first_imgThe Pune City police on Monday refuted a report suggesting that senior Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh could be questioned in connection with his alleged links to banned Maoist outfits and the Bhima-Koregaon clashes of January 1 this year. Shivaji Pawar, Assistant Commissioner of Police, the investigating officer in the Bhima-Koregaon case, told The Hindu that no such move had been mooted. Mr. Pawar was reacting to a report in an English daily.Mr. Singh’s mobile phone number had allegedly surfaced in one of the alleged Naxal communications seized by the Pune City police in its raids on the homes of activists on June 6, in relation to the ‘Elgaar Parishad’-Bhima Koregaon clashes.last_img
